A great way to improve our environment

dec2313bI have learned that artificial turf has a positive impact on our environment. Depending on the region in the Southwest, a typical grass sports field requires about 500,000 to a million gallons of water or more each year. During 2010, between four to eight billion gallons of water were thought to be used for watering sports fields. In addition, the estimated amount of artificial turf currently installed has eliminated the need for millions of pounds of harmful pesticides and fertilizers, which has significant health and environmental implications. Also, artificial turf helps reduce noxious emissions from gasoline powered lawnmowers as well as reduces grass clippings, which EPA says is the third largest component of municipal solid waste in landfills. All of these facts are good reasons for everyone who is concerned about our precious environment to seriously considering replacing natural grass with beautiful, longwearing artificial turf.
